Peek-a-poo

Everyone at some point wakes up in the middle of the night needing a wee. Yet why don't we ever wake up needed a poo?

Think about it, I bet you can't remember the last time. This maybe seen a strange subject but in all seriousness there's gotta be something in this. Is it a body thing where everything shuts down? Yet why do we need to wee? Is it the body thinking it's easier to wee than poo?

Is it the fact we can't see well in the dark, so why bother attempting it? Well in full view of everyone Paula Radcliffe did it mid marathon, so this shows it shouldn't matter time or place. When you gotta go....you gotta go.

Is it only humans?  I know from watching sloth documentaries that sloths only poop once a week but judging on how slow they move that explains why it's once a week.

One thing I've only just found out is that a birds poo is white cos they can't wee, yes really they can't wee. I thought everything could wee I thought it was a standard thing for all species. Well I was never taught that a school yet I was taught useless things like asking "où est la bibliothèque?"

This is where it would be good to know a scientist. It's one of them questions probably not many people have thought about.

Hopefully we'll get to the bottom of this.

We Stayed for the Cachopo

Earlier this year we went back to Oviedo. We decided that we need a slogan for our recently set up Real Oviedo North-West group. After minutes of using our full brain power, we came up with the slogan...."We came for the Football WE stayed for the Cachopo". So just one Cachopo scarf was made up. Little did we know it would be such a success!

We arrived in Oviedo after an interesting car journey from Bilbao. Straight into the hotel & then straight out for some food. When I say food, I obviously mean CACHOPO! A few of us decided to have Cachopo, I went for the full Cachopo. Which I somehow managed finished. It took all my strength, willpower & maybe stupidity to finish it.

After this victory I decided to show everyone the Cachopo scarf. This went down well. Straight into the kitchen did the Cachopo scarf go, numerous photos later I got it back. Then it hit Twitter where everyone loved it. I was worried as didn't know if the fans of Real Oviedo would get the humour of it, thankfully they share our sense of humour.

A day or so later it was supporter's day for Real Oviedo. This was where things really started to go mental. People wanted photos with the scarf constantly. It really surprised me on how popular the scarf had become. Even had people chanting "Cachopo! Cachopo! Cachopo!" it was amazing. Who'd of thought a scarf would be so popular?

From Oldham to Oviedo

Who would of thought a few years ago how a team from Spain would make such an Impression in my life.
No not Barcelona or Real Madrid but a little team called Real Oviedo.
Over a year ago I bought shares in Real Oviedo to help them out without thinking anything of it. A couple of weeks ago I made my first visit to Oviedo to watch my first game and it was the best few euros I've every spent when I purchased them shares. I would advise people to ignore Southern Spain and go to Northern Spain, to Asturias. Even if it's solely for the football, ham & of course the Cider.
The People are amazing and cannot do enough for you. Like the guys at the ROST (Real Oviedo Supporters Trust) and everyone connected to them & the club itself. The people were so lovely even though we didn't speak any Spanish. It's one of the few places that we felt instantly at home. Even got a round of applause from the Real Oviedo Ultras while leaving the stadium, which made our visit even more spectacular.
We've made so many new friends while we were there & also finally met people who we've been chatting to on twitter. Sadly my Spanish was non existent as I never did any at school. Yet whilst waiting for the bus to the airport home, we were looking at dates for when we'd be back (and we will be).
While I was there I noticed so many similarities with my own team Oldham Athletic were noticeable -
1) The weather, just like Oldham.... It rains. Not the horizontal rain we get in Oldham we did seem to have a bit more sun than most when we visited Oviedo.
2) Surroundings - Oviedo is surrounded by lots of hills and even some spectacular mountains near by, Oldham surrounded by the Pennines & beautiful places like Dovestones reservoir.

3) Way back in 2006 a Spanish striker called Diego Cervero had a trial at Oldham. He played in a couple of friendly games. Sadly the move never happened, but he still became a cult hero with a few latics fans partly due to his sideburns. Diego returned to his club Oviedo & is currently still there, sadly I didn't get to see him score.

4) Real Oviedo & Oldham Athletic both spent time in the top flight. Both have been out of the top flight for 13+ years.
5) Finances - Real Oviedo virtually went bust in the 2012-13 season but thankfully to a share campaign which was highlighted by Sid Lowe and former players like Michu, Santi Carzorla & Juan Mata, the target was met & the club was saved.
Similar Oldham who in 2004 were within hours of going bust but thankfully for Latics, 3 British business men based in America came in to save the club.
6) Team colours - thankfully Oviedo are Blue just like Oldham, no way I could ever support a team in red. They have an orange away kit, we had a tangerine kit.
7) Oviedo's famous and beautiful ham is a delight to taste, sadly we just have OLD-HAM.

8) Both clubs have the current youngest managers in their leagues, Lee Johnson (age 32), Roberto Robles (age 26)

9) Oviedo has streets that are dedicated to wine or cider. Oldham has Yorkshire Street which is dedicated to piss heads on Friday and Saturday night.
So go and visit Oviedo, it won't let you down.

Dog Poo Hanging

On my way to work it's very rare that there's anything of interest. Things have started to change. As I walk through a Chadderton playing field I start to notice unusual things. It's mainly down to a selected few dog walkers who are to blame.
Most people pick up their dogs poo and dispose of it in a bin. Not this particular culprit, who seems to have great pleasure in hanging dog poo bags from tree branches. Yes, hanging them off trees! They must go to great trouble to tie the bag to a tree branch.

Maybe they're thinking, well I've not thrown it on the floor so it will be ok.  Sadly how times have changed, people don't care about where they live these days.

The famous saying about 'you don't shit on your own door step' seems appropriate. Maybe when I find out who the culprit is I'll go round to their house and hang bags of shit on their door handle and see how they like it.

Diego Cervero is a Latic

Way back in 2006 a Spanish striker called Diego Cervero had a trial at Oldham Athletic. He played in a couple of friendly games. Sadly the move never happened, but he still became a cult hero with a few latics fans partly due to his sideburns.
Recently I heard about a Spanish club called Real Oviedo in financial problems who needed help. They were offering shares in the club to generate money, so I decided to buy shares to help them out. Then I thought, is Diego still there?. Sure enough he was.
The club was saved with help from Sid Lowe, shareholders, fans & ex players like Michu, Cazorla and Mata.

Then through social media I I was able to make friends with fellow shareholders & fans, who made me feel welcome being part of the club, especially the Real Oviedo Shareholders Trust.
Through that I discovered Diego wanted an Oldham shirt, so I was glad to help and sent a shirt with his name & number on plus my Oldham flag too.

This weekend he was given both the flag & shirt. Good to see him with an Oldham shirt at last but happy to see him in the Real Oviedo shirt scoring the goals for promotion this season!

What you saying luv?

While flicking through the tv channels some early morning, the new song from The Saturdays came on. It caught my attention straight away, not just because of Frankie but the lyrics. The sexual innuendo's are everywhere.

Here's a few parts of the Lyrics:
***A gentleman is so 1995, so hard for a girl to find
A real husband is so 1999, so hard for a girl to find (What)***

Well.....No idea what they are on about, what's 4 years difference? So was he a gentleman in 1995 then he became a husband in 1999, if so I feel for you pal.

***Cause most guys just hit it and quit it
And then they wonder why most girls just spit it***

Well..... We're all thinking the same about them lyrics, most girls just spit it. Wonder what they're on about???? They must mean when she's had some wrigley's spearmint.

***You're not a lady if you're always on your knees
Shouldn't have to beg a gentleman, so please be gentle, please**

Well.....errr another rather interesting lyric, always on your kness, can't imagine what she would be doing??? Maybe cleaning the floor, or some other chore that sucks.

***You had his baby, so you might got him for now
He already had the milk, so why would he go buy the cow?
Hop in, your chance is slim especially when I'm lying next to him***

Well.....course he would have a cow, then there's no need to buy milk again.

***Hop in, your chance is slim, especially when, he's lying next to them***

Well.....what's this a game of? 3 in the bed and the little one said roll over.

***Don't get me long, I know that
Most girls ain't perfect angels
I'll let you taste my rainbow
You could at least be faithful***

Well......what's this magical rainbow she wants us to taste? Her draws must be packed with skittles.

There you go, a Grammy award must go to whoever wrote these Lyrics, a masterpiece of sexual innuendo.

Electronic cigga cig ah

Electronic cigarettes seem to be all the rage these days. No matter where you go or where you work, there will be someone with one of these things. I would rather see people with an e-cig than  a proper cigarette but where do we stand with them?

Seems like smokers are getting the best of both worlds, no boundaries or rules what so ever. Free to use the e-cigarettes in public places & the worst place of all..... in the work place.

Which is surely unfair on other people that have addictions?

What about people who are addicted to computer games? Does this mean while in work you can take a PSP or a Nintendo DS around with you & play on it while working just to get your daily fix of gaming?!

What about people who are addicted to alcohol? Does this mean while in work you can happily drink shandy & hammer the wine gums till home time as a substitute for proper alcohol?

What about people who are addicted to porn? Does this mean while in work you can happily be watching Baywatch while you work as a cheap fix to your porn addiction?

A bit of willpower is what is needed to get you through addiction. No matter what it is.......except if your totally addicted to base!

Stop horsing around

PANIC! We've eaten horse meat, well us normal people, not these veggie freaks who have been tucking into quorn - which resembles E.T's dried poo.
If you ignore all the misleading packaging info, saying its beef when it's not, I can't see a problem with eating horse meat.
Lets face it, horses are no use to the vast majority of people now. These days we have cars & other modes of transport. We have tractors to help with farming tasks.
Seems like only jockeys are getting much use out of horses.
They're bigger than cows, they eat the same as cows, they're probably a healthier animal than cows are, so therefore they must taste about the same.
I'm not a big horse fan, they're too big & have that evil look about them. Don't forget they're not half a dirty as pigs are yet we love eating pig.

Hope they don't tell us Irn-Bru is actually old mans piss!

Call of Reality

After these shocking killings at a school in America, people are now blaming video games.
Ban guns in America, now that is what NEEDS to happen, licensing laws & to educate people is what's needed.
We did have nut-cases before video games were invented.
Apparently now, everyone who plays Call of Duty are going to kill people - get real, not everyone who plays it is a nutcase & thinks its real life !!
Good job I play Football manager in the safety of my own home dressed in club track suit on normal match days but can't resist putting on a suit for cup finals.

Back in 80's we didn't see an increase in people jumping up head 1st into boxes & searching for super mushrooms to give us a power boost like Mario. Nor did we see people gobbling after pills like Pac-man, ok, maybe we did on the club scene we did.

So if it all turns out to be true and video games influence us, we've just got to hope that when the aliens finally come down to attack us, all our practising on space invaders will come in handy.

Tramtastic

So the end of the world has been brought forward to this Sunday 16th December rather than the anticipated 21st December - Trams will now run to and from Shaw, this means the Shaw gorbies can escape on the tram!
Go and search "Shaw gorbies" if you have no idea what one of these strange creatures is.
The people of Manchester best be ready for the influx of visitors from Shaw. This is as long as they can figure out the ticket machines.
As discussed on twitter earlier I was informed that they use meat pies as currency & pork scratching as loose change, which is sure to cause problems with the mancs, i can see a few pies will be getting thrown back at them.
So yet more visitors for Manchester, 1st it was the usual Man Utd fans travelling up from the South, then just months ago Oldhamers appeared, now just days away come the gorbies, after the test trials from Shaw to Manchester were successful, as can be seen from this exclusive picture.

It's the end of the world as we know it!

Hard to handle

A couple of weeks ago on a routine journey round Tesco I discovered the bargain section. I noticed a load of Paralympic mugs for sale. To my disappointment they were in full working order! Surely if your selling Paralympic mugs they should be chipped or missing a handle to keep with the spirit of the Paralympics. Could even sell attachments handles to allow the mug to compete with your other mugs in the cupboard.

Pudsey Bear necessity, really?

As you are reading this, Pudsey bears will be beating off kids who try to give him a hug! Battens & riot shields in hand to beat off any kids encroaching within a few inches of them.

The BBC have told them not to give hugs because a handshake or wave is better. In other words they're scared to death of improper conduct accusations. The bandage over his eye is acting as protection just incase he gives the kids a wink.

This is sad news, we all love a hug. Why should a couple of idiots ruin it for us all?
Weird guys have been on the Earth for ever it's not just since they were employed by the BBC as dj's.

Stranger Danger was how I was brought up with.

The kids at the football are made up if they get a hug from Chaddy the Owl the Oldham mascot.

What's going to happen next? Stick the mascot in a bubble and roll him round to meet kids?

Well if I see Welephant outside the fire station, I for one will be giving him a hug!

Tarnished Heroes

One time hero & legend Jimmy Saville is currently being accused of being a sex pest. Many years ago I so wanted to sit and Jimmy's lap with a "Jim'll fixed it for me" medal round my neck..... How wrong I was! I can't remember what exactly I wanted him to fix for me, maybe something like going in a race car or walking on water.

It makes me wonder how many of my childhood favourites could turn out to be something I didn't expect.

What next? George from Rainbow turns out to be gay! Surely that couldn't happen? That pink hippo just knew what was in fashion, loved anything pink and just was in touch with his feminine side. I can't remember if he did wear make-up the odd time.

What next? Gordon the Gopher, was just Philip Schofields pimp? After each show Gordon would venture out and offer Phil out to various bored housewives to help pay for Gordon's coke addiction.

What next? "Bobby the banana" is just a sex toy! No more info needed.

What next? Mr Benn, turns out he was a cross-dresser and also a benefit cheat? using various disguises to claim various benefits using different identities to collect thousands of pounds.

What next? He-Man was just filling himself up with steroids and loved dressing in tight leather clothes. Enjoying nights in G.A.Y offering to show off his magical sword.

Let's just hope that these and only these are the only shame of the 80's.

Pedigree Rulers

Amazing how dogs seem to have taken over the world on the sly, we've hardly noticed it has happened.
Who would of thought 20 years ago or so, that dogs would be jumping for joy after watching their owner pick up their shit and put it in a bag. They must love it knowing that they can run anywhere and someone will chase after them with a asda carrier bag waiting for them to poo.
They even are treated to holiday kennels by some people, some food costs even more than our food & they have doggy shampoo
Surely dogs are on a par with babies now. We treat them the same. As well as cleaning up their poo, We even talk to them in a different voice.
Now we dress them up in little outfits and some people stuff them in handbags - (the dogs, not babies) but who knows, baby bags could be the next IN-thing!
Plus if the baby cries too much, just zip up the bag!
Can't wait to see what dogs get next, maybe we'll be carrying umbrellas to keep them dry when we take them for walkies while we get pissed wet through.
